Dell Inspiron 15 7577 SSD question

Hi,

I have recently bought Dell Inspiron 15 7577 with only 1TB HDD, so I want to add SSD. I know there is an empty slot for it, but I don't know the form factor(I think it is M.2, but I am not sure). Also, I have doubts about the type of connection, I know it is PCIe/NVMe, but there are various types of it, like 3.0 x2 and 3.0 x4, so I am not sure which one will be the right fit for my laptop. Could someone help me out?

M.2 2280, NVMe or SATA.  This is new enough that it should be four lane PCIe but since it's an Inspiron, likely GT2 only -- GT4 is usually XPS/Alienware territory.  Expect a max of 1.8G/s from an NVMe SSD.

So I should buy SSD with 3.0 x2 connector?

You need an M.2 2280 SSD.
