Dell Inspiron 14 (2 in 1) P147G | Not charging or turning on

Hi,

The other day I finished work on my laptop as normal. I didn't shut it down but closed it and I'm assuming it ran out of charge as it was extremely low. The next day I plug it in and find after a while it won't turn on. What's even stranger is that the charging light intermittently flashes when it's not even plugged in. Every 20 seconds or so while I have it plugged in, it sounds like the fan starts up and stops, but the laptop itself never turns on.

I can't do any troubleshooting that involves going into the BIOS or settings as I cannot get it to turn on. I ordered another 65W USB-C Dell charger and still the same.

I'd hate to have to buy a new laptop because of something as random as this, any suggestions?

I assume this is an Inspiron 14 5410. Try a reset first of all. Disconnect the adapter and the battery, then press and hold the power button down for 30 seconds. Now reconnect everything and try to boot. If that does not work then plug in the adapter and watch to see if the adapter light turns off.  If so then that indicates a short in either the adapter, DC Jack, or the MB.

I've tried the above and nothing. When I plug it in at first the charging indicator light and keyboard lights turn on for a second along with the fan, then stop. I disconnected the battery (I think) and held the button for 30 seconds and no real difference. What I noticed is that If I plug it in the same thing happens whether the battery is connected or not. If it is a short, I have no idea what caused it as it hasn't been dropped or splashed with water or anything.

I've attached a picture of the back below for reference if it helps at all.

I have the same problem and my computer looks exactly the same when I open the chassis. Were you able to get yours fixed?
