Dell G5 5590 - No way to change Keyboard RGB Lighting

So every help article states that I need to go into the BIOS and enable the Keyboard Illumination. Dell G5 5590, BIOS 1.3.1 I cannot fine Keyboard Illumination under System Configuration in BIOS. Please help. the Enable Numlock does not even stick when enabled in BIOS.

I know the RGB works because every boot during the Dell Logo the keyboard cycles the backlit in all the colours.

It's through Alienware Command Center. You must search for support for your service tag, then toggle "Show drivers for Service Tag " off. AW CC will show in the list for you to install.

AW CC has many bugs, one of which is a lack of conformity and sync with Dell Power Manager when defining thermal profiles. The bug has been there for at least 4 months.

But without AW CC, one can't even toggle the keyboard lights on/off. The G3 3590 has a much less fancy keyboard, but at least it doesn't rely on AW CC.

Same issue here. You should give up too. I tried with Dell support but the answer was: "It's working as designed".

After startup, keyboard maintains the lightning on or off, depending on how it was before restart.

After 1 or 2 minutes from startup, you can enable or disable lightning, but if you open AWCC, after you close it, ilumination button on kb stops working. You have to restart or reopen AWCC app to use the button.

And yes, when i restart, after BIOS screen the KB cicles colours.

And no, kb checkbox is NOT present in BIOS for this 5590 with RGB kb as it's software controlled. Dell told me that too.

Same issue here too. Dell doesn't seem to care about this, as all i get from them is "Oh, this is normal, it's working as designed". Come on, really?

A friend has the G7 unit with RGB keyboard and it works fine with AWCC. This appears to be an specific issue with the G5. Amongst others.

Suuuuuper easy fix. I have the G5 se as well.

Hit your windows key, and click on the alienware command center icon. If you don't have it, just start typing alienware and it'll pop up.

When it opens, at the bottom, it will say active default theme. Click the pencil beside it. It will take you to the FX screen, and from there you can click on your keys on the picture of the keyboard, and change each sections color.

Hi. Have the 5500 myself and there's no colour option in Bios nor there is a keyboards picture in Alienware Command Centre as suggested so I can change colours. There's only the lightbar zones there.

Can you please tell us how you did it. With screenshots in the software.

Many thanks in advance.
