Active Pen 5122w not working

I bought the Active Pen 5122w in April. Last month it intermittently stopped writing. I tried all the things that the dell website suggested, but nothing worked. I now have been trying to contact dell support, but I do not have a service tag number, only a PPID. Customer Support will not accept a PPID and I keep just getting transferred in circles. Anyone have any suggestions? 

the laptop it connects with is the Inspiron 16 7620 2 in 1.
