Windows won’t start
Inspiron 7459
Stuck on start up page:-
“The operating system did not shutdown cleanly
reconstructing cache metadata”
items go to 100%
Starts automatic repair
Hardware scans complete with no issues
restarts and gets stuck on the same page as above.
left for 8 hours.

Sounds like a failing drive is the top suspect. F12 at powerup -- boot to the Dell diagnostics and run an extended test.
