Inspiron 5675, USB 3.1 Type-C port, serve as DP?

Hello,

I want to ask if the USB 3.1 Type-C port can be used as DP for the monitor? I bought a Ryzen 3 2200G CPU to use with the desktop because I don't have money for now to buy a graphics card. A friend sold me the desktop without processor and graphics card. And the desktop does not have an HDMI port because it's the Ryzen version. So I want to ask can I use a Type-C to HDMI adapter to connect the desktop to my monitor? I'll be waiting for candid response. Thanks in advance.

Dell never validated the Ryzen 3 2200G CPU in this model. So right there you are in untested waters.

Validated CPU =
MDT18 Ryzen 2 R7-2700X, 8C/16T, 3.70GHz-4.30GHz max boost, 105w, Pinnacle Ridge
8N7VW Ryzen 2 R7-2700, 8C/16T, 3.20GHz-4.10GHz max boost, 65w, Pinnacle Ridge
FG1D4 Ryzen R7-1800X, 8C/16T, 3.60GHz, 95w, Summit Ridge
MNFC8 Ryzen R7-1700X, 8C/16T, 3.40GHz, 95w, Summit Ridge
C7K4M Ryzen R7-1700, 8C/16T, 3.00GHz, 65w, Summit Ridge
DP3VX Ryzen R5-2500X, 4C/8T, 3.60GHz, 65w, Summit Ridge
J0CKH Ryzen R5-1600X, 6C/12T, 3.60GHz, 95w, Summit Ridge
HDPTM Ryzen R5-1400, 4C/8T, 3.20GHz-3.40GHz max boost, 65w, Summit Ridge
TRYPJ Ryzen R3-1200, 4C/4T, 3.10GHz, 65w, Summit Ridge
KMF13 A10-9700, 3.50GHz, 65w, AM4, Bristol Ridge
RT9MT A12-9800, 3.80GHz, 65w, AM4, Bristol Ridge

So IF the Inspiron 5675 will POST with that non-supported Ryzen 3 2200G CPU, would the USB 3.1 Type-C port act a video out, unknown. Too many non-tested variables.

If there is not an onboard HDMI out port, then that Inspiron 5675 originally shipped with one of the low ended Bristol Ridge CPU.

The Inspiron 5675 with Ryzen 3/5/7 CPU had the onboard HDMI out port.

I would instead find any PCIe x16 video card to install and test to see if the Inspiron 5675 will even POST with that non-supported Ryzen 3 2200G CPU.

1. No, it's just a faster USB-Port

2. No, it doesn't support video

It sounds like you are thinking of Thunderbolt-ports, like on an Apple Mac.

It says right here that the port can be used for external display. It says right here that the port can be used for external display.

I saw this listing on eBay and the seller told me he has to flash his motherboard before he could install the ryzen 3 2200g.I saw this listing on eBay and the seller told me he has to flash his motherboard before he could install the ryzen 3 2200g.

I believe if this guy can get around it through flashing of BIOS, maybe I could too. But the problem is I don't live in USA. A friend of mine is helping me bring it to Nigeria via sea courier company. The system is yet to arrive. And in Nigeria I doubt if I'll get someone to borrow me a ryzen 1st generation processor, because people don't like Amd right here. Almost everyone is a fan of Intel. I'm just one of the few that love AMD based on my experience with their products. Please which processor do you recommend I buy that will be cheap so that I can be able to boot and update the BIOS? I have already bought the Ryzen 3 2200g and it's on it's way already, and it would be very hard to sell it in Nigeria, people in my country mostly use Intel mobo. So please I really need your help

awfull support.

USB C port says SS10+ but stuck on native 3.1, useless. I will never buy dell again, on of the worst pcs ever made, even a budget build easily outperforms.

Honestly I just wanted to connect firewire400 and it seems impossible, what a farse.
