Using SRDF to sync from R2 to R1

I have a RDF1 device group that has R1s related to R2s. I am aware of the commands to split and sync from the R1 to the R2.
Is there an option on the symrdf command to apply updates from a R2 device to a related R1 device?

AFAIK it doesn't need special licenses.. it's an option you have while configuring RDF protection for your data .. You can choose static RDF or dyn RDF. At the time being I'd always choose DynRDF :-) .. But it's my point of view... ;-)

I guess you need "symrdf restore" command :-)

I have used the restore command with symmir command. I assume the R2 can be inuse while the restore is running. We are looking at Autostart to handle relocation of our systems. Is this what it does to sync between the R2 to R1 in case of a relocation.

Are you an EMCer ?? Did I miss something ?? :-)

No. I am a customer. What I meant was EMC will be doing the work and I will be signing off that it is what I want done. (We) :)

Thank you for the information. We(EMC) will be setting up our SRDF target Symm next month and I will verify that setting.

I think that swapping the pairs may be a better choice.

When you failover to R2, R1 stand still at failover time.

If you swap pairs, the host where the application is running will always see R1 devices and R1 devices will always push data to their R2 devices (preserving remote protection of your data).

You need only Dynamic RDF if you want to swap pairs .. I'm not an Autostart expert however if I remember it does support swapping RDF pairs while relocating RG.

That does sound like what we need. I beleive it was mentioned in the our sales meeting with EMC. Is dymamic RDF included in the SRDF license or is it a separate license?
