Urgent help - LUN ID

I am mapping some devices to a solaris 10 host ; just saw on google maximum
allowed LUN ID is 0FF . anyone have idea whether solaris 10 with emulex leadville driver , LP11002 HBA . ALso how many devices can be mapped to single FA port in symmetrix?

There was a typo in original mail

I am mapping some devices to a solaris 10 host ; just saw on google maximum
allowed LUN ID is 0FF . anyone have idea whether solaris 10 with emulex leadville driver with LP11002 HBA supports LUN ID above 255 ( ie 0FF)

Also how many devices can be mapped to single FA port in symmetrix? I am seeing 246 LUN;s currently ; is there any Limit on this? I just now got to know the hyper limit to 4096.

Thanks

This link is mentioning about the maximum number of hypers we can allocate to FA port.. it is showing 4096 hypers..

I did not get my answer still

Regarding maximum lun limits per FA port, the source of this information is the DMX product guide for your particular DMX model. This is available on the Powerlink Website. Per previous answers the limit is 4096 (in DMX4). This is a maximum DEVICE limit. It may also be the maximum LUN limit, provided there are no meta volumes. In other words you may have up to 4096 LUN's per port provided the total device count (including meta members) does not exceed the same limit. Search for "Symmetrix devices and addressing capabilities for Fibre Channel front-end directors" in the above document.
Using dymanic lun adressing, every hosty (HBA) can have it's own unique lun number scheme on a given FA port. So in your sample output, the next available lun on the FA is 0FA, but with dynamic lun addressing this may be seen by the host as a different (lower) lun number. Basically every host on a given FA port can have luns begining at zero. Details on Dymanic lun addressing are available in the Solutions Enabler Symmetrix array controls CLI product guide.

Jasonc don't forget to mention that 4096 is the max num of devices per PROCESSOR. A processor hosts 2 different ports. You have to count the number of unique symdevs (both meta head and meta members) mapped on both ports of a given processor. ;-)

I completed the activity ; on sym the devices can exceed above 0FF on DMX3
and can map to FA port ( I assigned 100, 101,102,103,104,105,106 etc) .

Also My solaris 10 with leadville driver detected the LUN above 255.
