LTO Tape Library

Hello,

It's my first time dealing with LTO Tape libraries, so I need help in designing a solution.
I have a project with ten ISCI PowerVaults MD3860i and I want to backup their data on LTO-7 tape library ML6000.
How to make this happen physcialy and logically ?

- My thoughts is to connect the ML6000 through FC switch with FCOE Protocol so the physical connection can happen between the ISCI PowerVaults and library.
- Do I need like software or any other hardware to backup the data of HDDs to LTO Tapes ?

So please correct me.

Hello mostafa mohsen,

You will need to zone your ML6000 so that it can see your virtual disk on the host that it is attached to. You can’t zone your ML6000 to your MD3860i as it is not supported.

You will also need to get some backup software to backup your virtual disk as well as there is no native backup software that comes with your ML6000 to do so.

Please let us know if you have any other questions.
