How to reset "failure predicted" of ST4000NM0023 on RAID 6 after fixing firmware

We purchased two PowerEdge R515 servers with Perc H700 controllers and 12 ST4000NM0023 disks each in a RAID 6 configuration. Unfortunately we have had  enormous numbers of disk "predicted failure" (about 50%) because of the poorly performing  firmware in the originally shipped disks.  When we read the explanation from Dell at https://www.dell.com/support/kbdoc/en-us/000179687/premature-failures-observed-on-seagate-megalodon-makara-sas-sata-drives-firmware-update-required-to-prevent-premature-failures# we updated the firmware for the remaining disks, the RAID controller, and the motherboard. On one of the machines, a disk that had been automatically put offline and replaced by a dedicated hot spare immediately became automatically reactivated and began rebuilding on the update. The other machine does not have any dedicated hot spares and the "predicted failure" disk is still functioning and still says "predicted failure" in OMSA and is flashing green/yellow on the front panel. Do we have to force the "predicted failure" disk offline or power cycle the server or something else to get it to reset and rebuild or do we need to replace it?
