Ask the Expert: Entry Level Data Protection Storage Redefined

Welcome to this Ask the Expert session. On this occasion our experts will discuss how EMC is redefining entry level data protection storage with the new data protection platform DD2200.

Customers struggle with the challenges driven by unrelenting data growth and data protection needs

  • Managing complexity of data protection
  • Controlling costs of infrastructure
  • Maintaining application performance and ensuring data protection SLAs

The new DD2200 offers enterprise-class functionality, increased capacity, performance and stream count at entry level prices for remote offices and IT departments.

Our experts are standing by to cover all this and much more over the next 2 weeks.

New to the community hoping I am doing this correctly.

So In regards to DataDomain. We are currently revamping a clients site that uses VDP-A 5.5 into Data Domain storage. My question is, if the VDP-A appliance was to get corrupted is there a way to rebuild the appliance and reattach the data from the old appliance that now lives inside the avamar directory on the DD?

If not, are emc and vmware working to get this resolved?
