Welcome to this Ask the Expert discussion. On this occasion we will be covering and talking about general recommendations and advice related to CKD data replication over Mainframe environment (Parallel Clone running in VMAX). Also we are going to provide answers for this procedure via SYMCLI (Command Line Interface), SYMRDF, SYMDEV, SYMCLONE, etc. Lastly we will discuss Mainframe Started Tasks for tools such as EMCRDF, EMCSCF and any question related to Streams creation thru JCL (Job Control Language), commands, syntax over Host environment are welcome.

Claudio has been working for EMC for the past 16 years. On the various roles that he's held in the past VMAX and VNX have been some of the products that's he's provided support to the customers. Previous to EMC, Claudio has worked for IBM, and when the world was a little more mainframe oriented. He supported products that were cross-operating systems, so also has experience with VM, VSE and MVS, now known as Z/OS. This product list included SQL (the IBM relational data base) and later DB2 (same for MVS). After leaving IBM he worked in Y2000 issues and in HELP DESK implementation, but when took the role on at EMC he became SW specialist on Z/OS and open systems. Since then he's been trained in new SW offerings, including SRDF, Time Finder, SNAP, Clones, and admin tools as Control Center and SMC.
