Tapelibraryfixer,
I personally haven't come across this before, but would suspect that the issue is that the replacement controllers firmware a newer/older revision that didn't support that firmware. What I would suggest trying is running the latest version 10.0.3, and see if it works.
Also, would you confirm the firmware version that the replacement is at currently?
Let me know.

The replacement controller had 9.18 originally, but it also booted fine with v10.0
anything higher it didnt want to know. i have seen this on a type13 aswell.
maybe its a case of booting with v10.0 and upgrading to v10.0.3

So the working controller with 10.0.2 has a part number of 05T3X7.
the replacement with the same PN didnt work with 10.0.2.
i tried a differant controller with PN 0X3J14 and 10.0.2 works.

Hi,
it looks like the controller must be replaced.

Hello,
Only much earlier controllers didn't support 10.x. CMs Type 7 and later support 10.0.x.
There are 32bit and 64bit versions of the code. 32bit are for the older Type 7 and Type 10 controllers. The rest excluding the PSM4110 controller are 64bit.
The firmware on the controller has to match the firmware on a configured array. If your array is booted with 9.1.9, then both controllers must be 9.1.9 as well. If you try to boot a different FW it will generate an error.
Regards,
Don

the controller wouldnt even load the OS v10.0.2 that was copied from the primary.
in the end i just did it through the serial port using v10.0 that did boot. now its on 10.0.2.
