setting up nightly backups from Veeam to PS6100

we recently moved our virtual infrastructure to the new Powerstore SANs, and since our  PS6100 is no longer in production, was looking at using it to backup the VMs nightly using Veeam backup.

what would be the best way to accomplish this, are there any "how tos" I can get my hands on to assist with getting this working?

I would guess create new volume large enough, then give access to the server running Veeam, would be the simplest, but is it the best?

  1. You create one large Volume on the PS
  2. Attache this volume to a Windows (ReFS) or Linux server (XFS filesystem)
  3. Add this server as a Repository to Veeam and adjust your Jobs

I have customers who running Backup Copy Jobs from the veeam main repository to the old PS.

Hello,

FYI: The largest volume size for EQL is 15TB.  You might find that using several volumes is better than one mega volume.  Depending on the number of concurrent backups you are planning.

If the 6100 is not currently running RAID6 I would strongly suggest you set it to RAID6 now.

Don
