Equallogic Power On Delay
Hi,
I have 2 x PS6510 and I have limited power available from the data center. With the 7A/450W Power Supply, it will draw 7A and then it settles to 3.5A. With 3 x Power Supply, that takes up 21A on a start-up. That is a massive amount of power needed to boot the SAN. And of course, I have two of them on the same power bar.
After it settles, it only draws 10.5A. Which is perfect and within my budget.
Is there a way to delay Power On the EqualLogic?
Thanks

Hi, I got your point but I'm not aware if do set to a stable power draw at booting time. I've checked administrator guide and reference command line guide but I couldn't find a way to do it. Frankly, I'm not sure there is a way to do that. Let's see how to community contributes.

Hello,
There are no power on related commands like you are seeking. You need to be able to provide the power needed. Under heavy IO load the current requirement will increase also. You could use external power strips to stagger the starting of each array so both won't power up at the same time.

HI All,
I figured. As an alternative, I am going to get a Smart PDU, and have the SAN plugged into different Zone and I can configure the timer on that. So that will help out. Thanks everyone.
