Out of Warranty driver support

Is there a better way to source the drivers for an out of warranty machine? I have an e6520 and the service tag isn't in the system anymore. The driver download page for the E6520 is an absolute mess… it's virtually impossible to figure out which of the myriad of drivers are even relevant let alone necessary for my specific configuration…. and not even my specific configuration, there are drivers thrown in there that aren't even for the 6520 at all.

I can figure out a few of the relevant ones but I could easily be missing a couple or end up installing ones that aren't needed at all…… is there any detriment to installing completely irrelevant drivers?

Sorry if this is the wrong place to ask but It's far too late here and I"m at my wits end.

Here are some options:

For post deployment driver & firmware updates, refer to Dell | Command Update.

For driver packs which can be used during the OS deployment process, refer to either:

Thank you,

Tyler

Great, thanks!

My hard drive crashed and I am starting from a fresh windows install, Sounds like the 'during OS deployment' option would be preferred but is more complicated to set up… especially considering I only really have the one machine to work with.

I did have to install my wireless network driver first to allow the Command Update to retrieve the appropriate drivers…. How big of a deal is it to do that one out of order? If it's a problem I could probably figure out the deploy driver packs method and reformat my computer later when I have more time to deal with it all.

edit: The command update didn't suggest I install any dell system drivers… (or audio/Video which was easy to identify and source elsewhere) everything seems to be running fine just seemed like the suggested list was a lot shorter than the last time when I had a dell tech provide me with a list.

Okay, I've done this.  It installed the program...somewhere...and now I'd like to download a network adapter update, but I don't what what to do next.  As far as I can tell my system looks exactly the same.  BTW it is out of warranty, so I can't get it from Dell.  How exactly do I "refer to Dell | Command Update.?"
