Dell removed random versions of BIOS from "BIOS release hostory" for each model
Hi
We are entering global upgrade of BIOS on each machine, in our company. Process started some time ago and for each single model, we looked in BIOS release hostory on every single support page for model.
There is "Old versions" link on BIOS Download page.It shows a table of what BIOS versions Delle released for this particular model
Couple months ago we made a list of all historical versions for each model. This week, we wanted to refresh this list and start upgrade process but... we noticed that Dell deleted information about historical versions of BIOS versions. Why it is so important ? To upgrade, we need to know what versions are outdated. System looks for BIOS from the "outdated list" and trigers upgrade. Dell deleted some versions and now we will miss these versions on our list, so if Laptop has old version of BIOS that is not listed on OFFICIAL DELL SUPPORT PAGE for the model, the system will skip this laptop, thinking that "old version was not found".
We spent a lot of time to find out what Dell did and here is a list of MISSING BIOS VERSIONS, including Hardware Model. This is list of SCHAME. It is unacceptable that official releases are not present of vendors website. How can company count on official website ? It cannot at all.
Including outdated catlogPc.xml, it means that vendor does not care and I don't know why this happen. We had never issues before.
These BIOS versions are completely undocumented and missing on Dell Website:
