my motherboard has no AGP slot

Okay....the subject says it all.   I just bought a graphics card that uses an AGP slot or whatever, and when I opened up my computer, all there was was a little strip labeled "AGP", but no slot.   What's the cheapest thing I can do?  Is it possible to have the manufacterer either put the agp slot on, or trade a mother board or something?  If so, how can I do it?  And if not, then where can I get a new mother board for my Dell Dimension 3000?

Thanks a lot

Oh, by the way.  I'm kinda still getting started all this "internal hardware" information stuff, so... please use small words.  I'm a novice. :smileysad:

Go to http://www.PriceWatch.com go to video card and they have a list vendors that have high end PCI video cards . When you install the PCI video card make sure it is in the slot closest to the center of the board . Even if you have to move another card . The PCI slot is the white ones . ISA are black .
If you have onboard video it will disable when you reboot . Good luck .

okay.    One more question.  I'm sure this has been talked about a LOT, so, you can just send me the link to the thread about it:   PCI vs. PCI - express  ?      Can I use a video card that says "PCI-E" on my PCI slot?

Rick if you don't like the post don't read it or respond . The fact that Siebenboy could have found the answer in the search is not the point . I believe he wanted a live , not canned response . What did it hurt for him to ask that question . NOTHING . We all are learning from the fourm . Part of that learning process is discussion . With 15,000+ posts , and you flip response , you appear to know it all . Well why don't you help us by answering the question both technically and giving us your opinion on it's use and limitation in old , new , and the future this technoligy will have on computering . And I personally would like to read your posts on your personal experience using this product . I have quit forum like this because of persons like yourself . I find your posts and your signiture offensive . I hope a Dell moderator reviews your post and deletes it .
