Monitor replacement

I think I'm going to send My Dell P990 monitor in for a replacement while I'm still under warranty. I am still getting that strange ringing noise when playing games. I tried changing the refresh rate but it didn't do any good. But my questions are, does Dell still manufactur this monitor, or will I get the newer model that many people seem to be having problems with? also, who would I contact about getting a replacement? Thanks!

They will replace it with a refurbished monitor, whatever they have in stock.

Now the bad news, I recently had to have a monitor replaced. It took Dell 3 tries to get me a working replacement. Fortunately, they paid the shipping both ways for all three monitors, the original and the first two defective ones. FexEx was starting to call me the monitor man when they saw me walk in the door :)

HI

Call Tech support. My monitor went bad and I called, what they do is this.
When they determin that it is bad, they will ship you a replacement and all you do is put your old one in the box and ship it back. You will need a credit card for deposit incase you don't return the old one.

They paid for the shipping on mine.
My computer was up and running with in a week from the call.

Yes, the ringing noise is not correct. You have the right to expect a quiet monitor.

Do you think my problem is a good reason to get a replacement? I know it seems little, but it's really annoying.

Here's Dells troubleshooting guide for audible noise emanating from monitors.
