Are all motherboard 9-pin front panel headers universal?

I've got a Vostro 220 MT, motherboard manufacturing number "Y312K", with this info on the back of my mobo: Foxconn ML1 94V-0 E25311.

I'm installing the components from my Vostro 220 MT (plus other upgrades I've made) into the Cooler Master Storm Scout.

Here's the issue:
Dell has a combined plug responsible for the power switch, HDD activity LED, and power light LED that plugs into the front panel header of the motherboard (see picture of front panel header here: http://i46.tinypic.com/ea5hev.jpg )

The CM Storm Scout has the front panel header plugs in individual pairs (i.e. a 2 pinhole connector for each of these: "POWER SW" "RESET SW" "HDD LED" "POW LED+" "POW LED-").

Now:
I've been researching front panel header pin wirings, and I only find diagrams that are all similar to this: http://www.intel.com/support/motherboards/desktop/sb/CS-009016.htm

When I compare the wiring of the original Vostro front panel header plug:
1) The HDD LED wires and the power LED wires match up in the same spots as the Intel diagram above (1/3 and 2/4 respectively, but I'm not sure about their polarity! Does it matter?)
2) However, the wires that run to the power switch do not match with the diagram, and are instead in position 5 and 6! Once again, I don't know the polarity of these wires either!

So:
What do I do?

Note: already searched Foxconn website and can't find any info; already talked with Dell support twice and only received a little help

I think with an LED, if the polarity is wrong, the LED doesn't glow. Reverse it and it will glow.

As long as you get the correct wires going to the correct pins, I think you're OK. There's margin for error in these things. Heck, it took several times to get the S/PDIF bracket wired up correctly to my 220's mainboard header and it still worked.

Thanks rdunnill! Fortunately I hooked up the pins on the front panel and got it correct the very first time
