Alert System Battery Voltage is Low...
I just received the message "Alert System Battery Voltage is Low..." when I booted up my Dell Dimension 8200. It said press F1 to continue or F2 to run setup. I hit F1 and the computer booted fine.
Should I run setup? What does this message mean?
Thanks!

It seems like your CMOS batteries are on the way out. A bit early for 8200s though?
This battery backs up your BIOS settings & Real Time Clock. It will more than likely be a CR2032 watch battery that simply needs to be swapped out. The process will be in your system manuals. There is a small chance that you will loose your BIOS settings so I suggest you write them down manually before you proceed.

Were U ever able to ID & fix the "Low System Voltage" message problem you had? I have the identical problem and don't see a reply to your original question. Thanks.

aguess,
Although it does not always happen a battery can go bad. You should contact tech support and arrange for a replacement of this battery.

In an attempt to clear the error message, enter BIOS (F2), and then press CAPS LOCK/NUM LOCK/SCROLL LOCK. At that point, then press ALT+E. You should hear an audible beep.
Arrow down to the "system event log" and press 'enter'.
Clear the event log and mark all entries as read. Press ESC to exit.
If the message returns, then the battery is dead or the mb might be going.

Dear aguess,
I was wondering if you are still having the "System Battery Voltage is Low" warning, after taking your battery out for 24 hours. Hundreds of people are receiving this message on their brand new computers.
Please let us know if you are still receiving the warning and if not what fixes you have used that have worked.
Thank you,
Linda~
