Dell Inspiron 9400 (PP05XB) strange video problem
I have a Dell Inspiron 9400 (PP05XB) with a strange problem
I installed windows 7 on it and it works with the default driver (windows driver)
But if I install the driver it needs the screens goes blank but the laptop is still running it is the correct driver now if I uninstall the driver reboot the video is working again
It is the board ? or the Video board LS-2883P that is the problem as it has the non upgradeable video

That is not the GPU -- it's just a connector card. The GPU itself is soldered to the mainboard.

It's likely a bad GPU, but on a 20 year old system anything is possible.

oh and also it works great in safe mode probably as no drivers are installed for that
