Problems updating DELL SCv 2020

Hi,

I'm trying to update the OS version of my DELL Storage SCv 2020 but it doesn't pass latest system health checks.

This warnings are showed:

SAS cables are connected and no other errors are showed for the storage, controllers are up and running.

Do you have any advice to solve this?

Thanks in advance

Hello brad.c,

What is your current SCOS version that you are running on your system?  Have you opened a support case so that we can review your systems health check and can release the newer SCOS for your system?

Hi,

it should be 6.5.20. Yes I have, Dell support sent me the procedure, all the SCOS and SCUU versions i need to update the storage but when i try to update from 6.5.20 to 6.7.50 it appears the message that it didn't pass the latest system health check.

The storage is out of support.

Thank you

Hello brad.c,

What errors are you getting with your health check?  From your first post you stated that the cables are connected, and controllers are up and running.  There are many reasons that a system can fail a health check & without knowing the error I can tell you how to resolve the issue.

Hi,

these are the errors i get:

update error.PNGwarnings_.PNG

Now I have these errors for port that are not configured actually:

sas controllers.PNG

If I try to unconfigure them this error appears:

unconfigure error.PNG

I think that the issue is in the bottom controller and it has to be replaced, what do you think?

And by the way, is it possible to reset the storage to factory settings?

Thank you in advance

Hello brad.c,

Based on the errors that are listed there does appear to be an issue with bottom controller. looking at the errors that are in the screen shots most likely the controller does need to be replaced.

With the current version of SCOS that is running on your SCv2020 you will not be able to do a factory reset without contacting support.  In versions 6.7 & later you can issue a command via CLI to do a factory reset.
