Using DRM in isolated environments

Has anyone used the Dell RM within multiple locations completely disconnected from the internet? I have 5+ test environments which will need to get FW updates. (Although a test environment we are still audited using NIST/FISMA standards like a production environment, so we don't have a choice about critical/security updates.)

Are there any suggestions for doing so? Thanks!

I'm disappointed that Dell chose to discontinue releasing its self-contained ISO to update firmware in later PowerEdge models. It was an easy tool to use, especially in my environment.

Hi,

Which ISO are you talking about ?

Yes, that is correct. All of our labs are isolated, but they all need to be maintained as a production environment.

Oh yes, you are right...

Current issue is that the system where DRM is installed on does not have internet access ? Thus you cannot use the Platform Bootable ISO feature from DRM...

How did you proceed before ? Was the ISO put in to a usb key, previously downloaded from a system which got internet access ?

Old school. Downloaded the ISO from another system. Burned to disc, as we cannot use USB drives. Used disc to manually update each server. But since each server is running as an ESXi host, we would have to do them one at a time anyway.

Why do you not update your isolated systems via their respective iDRAC with a mounted ISO created from DRM ? Or via OpenManage Enterprise (internet access required) ?

Unless the iDRAC cannot be reached remotely ? Means you can only update your systems being in front of them...

The latter is the case. Even the iDRACs must remain isolated. And none of the environments can connect to each other.

Ok - si why not creating the Platform Bootable ISO via DRM Installed on a system with internet access then ? This is the you did in the past.
