Unable to specify acceptable path when creating bootable iso

I'm using the 3.1.0.468 version of the Dell Repository Manager on an Ubuntu machine, and have trouble creating an ISO file.

I tick the check box for the repository I want to update and click EXPORT. Regardless of what I enter as a location for the Smart Bootable ISO, I am served this error message when clicking EXPORT:

'The specified path is not accessible. Kindly check the path or access rights.'

I have tried several different directories that I know I have read/write access to, and even tried with root with the same result.

Anyone actually tried this with Linux?

Hi,

I downloaded and installed Repository Manager onto my system (Ubuntu 18.10). I initially got the same error as you. However, when I modified the folder permissions to include read and write for other users, I was able to export to my test directory.

Well, I can see it will change to use the drmuser while running, which explains the odd behavior. Regardless, this should be handled in a better way IMHO

You're right, that fixed it. However it seems very counter intuitive and sounds like a bug in the repomanager. Should it be filed somewhere?

Dell Repository Manager 3.x is supported only for RHEL and SUSE flavors. Ubuntu support is not provided yet.

And for the question,

In Linux, if you are exporting to a local path, then entire path has to be given write permissions manually and then export operation has to be performed.

DRM does not have capability to provide permissions to folder on its own as of now.

I know about the non-Ubuntu support, however the issue here is unrelated.

I understand how permissions work, but the error message in the application is not at all clear unless you know how the application is started. Improving the error message with a text stating that it should have read/write permissions for drmuser or all users would go a long way.
