NEW Dell Mobile Connect BT failure

I installed the NEW version of DMC yesterday, and cannot get the bluetooth portion to work. When I look at the user guides online, it shows a popup that happens to confirm bluetooth connection, but mine never does that - it asks to connect to see files, and then it briefly shows bluetooth but skips past it and says "you're all set". I finally figured out how to manually connect my iPhone 12 Pro Max to my XPS 15 9500, and I toggled the "show notifications" option to on in the phone's bluetooth settings for my laptop, but I still have all of the warnings as shown below. I confirmed I am connected via bluetooth and the app is open on my phone. I received a call earlier that came through to my laptop, but that's the only thing that has worked so far. Can anyone help?
