Hi Team!
Thank you for reaching out! We do have a methodology for updating devices running Dell Encryption from Windows 7 to any variant of Windows 10 since 1607 seamlessly, which is outlined here: https://www.dell.com/support/article/en-us/sln298382

Older versions of Dell Encryption, Dell Data Protection | Encryption, and Credant Mobile Guardian may not be supported on older Operating Systems, therefore Microsoft has implemented a block outlining this lack of support, which is what you have posted above. These older versions of Dell Encryption, when uninstalling the application for Dell Encryption leaves files still encrypted on disk, which would still prevent the Windows 10 Update from succeeding, as files cannot be unlocked by the Operating System without the Dell Encryption drivers present. With an uninstall and decrypt, which can be performed based on the guidlines (Uninstall and Decrypt documentation link below), we can fully remove the encryption on the device, if that is the desired path. We have also created a public Dell Encryption Removal Agent that guides you through the process as well.

Newer versions of Dell Encryption, as mentioned in the Windows 10 Update Best Practice KB article, can fully support this feature update with no intervention by the end user. Simply update the version of Dell Encryption, reboot, and then the Feature Update can be processed, while the drive remains encrypted throughout the process.

With the cadence of Windows 10 Feature Updates, updating directly to the latest Feature Update (Windows 10 2004 as of the time of writing) may not be directly supported (as Windows 10 2004 launched 2 weeks ago). Dell strives to have support for Windows 10 Feature Updates with all Dell Endpoint Security products as quickly as possible, and all information for compatibility is listed in our Windows 10 Feature Update Compatibility KB here: https://www.dell.com/support/article/sln307922

Let us know if there's any additional information that we can help out with on this front!

Once you have downloaded the Dell Data Security Uninstaller from our drivers and download page you can extract the contents of the zip file to your local PC. Once the files are extracted go to that location and run the DataSecurityUninstaller program as an administrator.

The first screen displays. You can click Next.

On the next screen all applicable Dell Data Security products that are installed will display.

It's important to note that most of the security solutions can be uninstalled without any pre-requisite work being done. The Encryption solutions however if they were in use MUST BE decrypted prior to being able to be uninstalled. If you need help determining if your machine is encrypted please contact our support teams and we'll be happy to assist.

After you click Next you will have one final confirmation before the removal begins. Click Remove to uninstall the previously selected products.

The removal program will begin uninstalling.

Once the uninstall finishes you can click Finish. A reboot is recommended but if you are not ready to reboot you can un-check the "reboot machine after clicking finish" checkbox.
