Netskope Version 89

Netskope Version 89 is available, containing two major new features with Netskope Cloud firewall and Netskope Remote Browser Isolation. Version 89 also contains 15 minor new features and changes, and 15 fixes.

Dell Trusted Device Version 3.8

Dell Trusted Device V3.8 is now available.

New Features and Functionality in v3.8

  • The following platforms are now supported by BIOS Verification:
  • Latitude 9420
  • Latitude 9520

Resolved Security Advisories in v3.8

  • Trusted Device permission handling in the Windows Registry is improved.

Resolved Technical Advisories v3.8

  • An issue resulting in false BIOS Verification failure after restarting a computer is resolved.

Technical Advisories Technical Advisories v3.8

  • Trusted Device does not currently support installations for non-English versions of Windows. As a workaround, install Windows using English configuration and then change your language settings. To change Windows language, see our article Check or change language settings.

Dell Security Management Server

Dell Security Management Server version 11.2.0 is now available. This release includes updates for both Dell Security Management Server and Dell Security Management Server Virtual.

Changes in the 11.2 release include:

  • A new policy, User PIN lifetime, has been added to the Operating System Volume Settings section in the Advanced Settings of the Bitlocker Encryption policy set. The User PIN lifetime policy sets the lifetime of the Bitlocker PIN, in hours, before it must be recreated. The default value of the User PIN lifetime policy is 2160 (90 days).
  • An issue is resolved so that all columns display in the Device Detail managed report.
  • ]A new column, Endpoint Group, has been added to several managed reports to allow administrators to view all endpoint groups that contain an endpoint. Records can be filtered based on the value of the endpoint group column.
  • An issue is resolved so that custom ports defined for TCP or UDP can be saved or committed in the Client Firewall policy set.
  • In Populations > Enterprise > Advanced Threat tab, Threat files can now be downloaded.

Carbon Black v3.7.0.1503 launch

Carbon Black 3.7.0.1503 launched November 3, 2021.

This issue provides performance improvements over prior releases of VMware Carbon Black, as well as fixes for:

  • An issue causing a large number of alerts to be generated with previous version 3.7 attempting to inject code into other processes via SetWindowsHookEx.
  • Improved Tamper Protection policy to improve performance for Endpoint Standard.
  • An issue where ctiuser.dll could be loaded twice, resulting in system instability.
  • An issue with the sensor applying a policy deny rule for applications signed with allowed listed certificates. 

KB article updates for Dell Encryption activation issues

Dell Support has updated various KB articles to assist with troubleshooting activation issues with Dell Encryption. KB article has been updated with several tips and information to help with troubleshooting.

Dell and its partners have been busy preparing for Windows 11. Various products within the Dell Endpoint Security umbrella have been updated to support Windows 11.

Windows 11 is supported in the following product versions:

  • Dell Encryption (all editions) – 11.2.0
  • Dell Endpoint Security Suite Enterprise - Web Protection and Client Firewall – 3.2.0
  • VMware Carbon Black – 3.7.0
  • Absolute Device and Data Security – 7.17.0.2
  • NetSkope - 89
