cmgshellext.dll crashing explorer.exe

Looks like Dell Data Protection is calling cmgshellext.dll and crashing explorer.exe on login, repeatedly. Have to Control-Alt-Delete -> Task Manager -> Run explorer.exe to get everything working. I'm not seeing any previous discussions of this issue.

Let me know if you have thoughts.

Thanks

Hey taylorjnelson,

Thanks for posting the error details.  I did some research and it turn out we made some code changes in our 8.17.x releases to resolve this issue.  Below are the release notes and the download portal where you can grab the latest version of DDP|E.

Release Notes

If the issue still persists after an upgrade please let us know and we can troubleshoot further but hopefully this should get you going.
