'Unable to connect to server' when adding Avamar server to DPA
Hi
I'm trying to add an Avamar V7.4 server to my DPA 6.3 environment. During the test phase of Discovery Wizard, I see:
Unable to connect to server
When I log in to my DPA agent, I see the same message in dpaagent.log.
I did some searching in ECN and found https://community.emc.com/docs/DOC-54869. This document points to an article that describes how to log in to the Avamar server and verify whether the password to the 'viewuser' account is known in psql:
admin@ave:~/>: psql -p 5555 mcdb -U viewuser -h ave
Password for user viewuser:
psql: FATAL: password authentication failed for user "viewuser"
admin@ave:~/>:
The fact that this psql test is performed implies (at least, to me) that the Avamar test performed by the Discovery Wizard involves running psql and using the 'viewuser' account. Is this true?
Unfortunately, this article does not say how to reset the psql 'viewuser' password, since the 'viewuser' password in my system has, apparently, been changed..
Anyone know how to do this?
