DTA 201060: 7.7.1.0, 7.7.2.0, 7.8.0.0, and 7.8.0.10 may potentially experience data loss

Hello everyone, here is an important announcement from the Data Domain team regarding certain system versions:

 

Summary: Due to a rare race condition, Data Domain systems (DDRs, DDVE, and DDVE in cloud) running DDOS version 7.7.1.0, 7.7.2.0, 7.8.0.0, and 7.8.0.10 may potentially experience data loss when backups are written while Cleaning is running.

Note:

This issue is limited to only the four releases mentioned above. There is no impact on any other releases

Resolution

This issue is addressed in DDOS Releases 7.7.1.10, 7.7.2.10, 7.8.0.20, and later.

Follow the information in Dell KB article 200905: Due to a rare race condition, Data Domain systems with versions 7.7.1.0, 7.7.2.0, 7.8.0.0 and 7.8.0.10 may experience a potential data loss issue when backups are written while Cleaning is running for more details on how to determine if a system is affected by the issue and remediate.
