Why am I being charged $48 for free shipping?
I have been trying to order a laptop and the one I want says free next day shipping. If I place it in my shopping cart, it still says free shipping. When I get to the payment details page, it then shows $48 for shipping.
What's up with that?

Order it through a sales agent and check the invoice for shipping charges before confirming your order

I talked to a guy in sales and he couldn't match the price of what's shown on their web site for some reason. Ordering by phone would cost $100 more. That's crazy!

I just tried ordering again to see what happens. I even went as far as entering my payment info. They still want $48 for free shipping. I have been using and ordering Dell computers for over 20 years and never ran into this before. I wouldn't mind paying for shipping as long as you don't call it free.

And I just got off the phone with a sales agent and he said he could remove the shipping fee but the cost would be $699 plus tax. But their web site shows $599. So it looks like I'm done with Dell.
