question about 8GB line card
Hello,
Our directors and edge switches are currently at 4.2(7b). Old, I know, however, it has been hard to get outages. We need to install an 8GB line card into the directors to allow for ARRAY - Director zoning at 8GB. The model number is a DS-x9224-96K9. I was told the code level on the card is 5.2.2d. We would like to upgrade, however, we have a month or so of host remedial work to do before we can upgrade the fabric to that level. Does the code level on the card matter if the fabric is running on 4.2(7b). Can the firmware on the card be back leveled so that we can take advantage of the 8GB before upgrading the entire fabric. Our new array is on the floor and we should be starting the installation process next week.
Many thanks!

i popped them in and they came up without any issues. These are gen 3 cards that should be supported by 4.1 and higher.
