ISL trunking between DS-24M2 and MDS 9124

Hello Everyone,

We are planning migration of our DB2 data from CX 500 to CX 240 using SAN copy....The old CX 500 is connected to Connectrix DS-24M2 while the new CX240 is connected to MDS 9124switches...How do I do the ISL trunking between the switches since the host is only connected to the DS-24M2....and is there a documentation on ISL trunking using Connectrix manager???

if you have available ports on CX4, connect it to the old fabric so you don't have to worry about connecting both switches together. That would be the preffered way (at least for me). When you connect Cisco to any other vendor switches you have to worry about putting CIsco VSAN into interop mode as well as making changes to DS-24M2 (which is disruptive).

what OS ? I am asking because that may influence your migration options.

Yup thats exactly what I did...but had to compromise on HA and performance and go with the least minimum zoning required by SAN copy as we had just one empty unused port on each DS-24M2 switches.

My next question would be....If one storage array is being managed by Navishpere and the other by Unipshere...will SAN copy still work the way it does normally or I have to be aware of something here??
