Cisco MDS 9513 Buffer_Credit Best Practice?
4GB line cards with 48 and 24 ports. All connections are local, just a few metres.
MDS was pretty packed to connect numerous HP blades but many FC-ports will be availlable soon after migration to Cisco UCS with only a few NPV ports. These links are strategically distributed across the MDS to have one dedicated 4GB FC port in each port group. The same applies for the connection to the VMAX. What should I do with the BB_credit? The default is 16. Technically I could increase the buffer credit. Would this provide any benefit? If I don't use the buffers here they will not be used at all I suppose.
(The connected hosts are all ESXi5.0)

The default amount of credits is usually enough for “multi mode distances”. You might need more than the default when you’re covering long distance over several miles / kilometers.
Having said this adding more doesn’t hurt.
