SC8000 - re-using disks as replacements in another SC8000

Hi

I have two compellents,  both SC8000 ctrl's and both the same SCOS level.  One of them is being decomissioned.

Question - can I use drives from the decomissioned one as replacements for failed drives in the other.

If if put in as a 'swap' for a failed drive do they reformat etc (i.e. ignore what already on them from their previous life)

Any help much appreciated.

Hello @BFCRich,

Yes, as long as the disks are compellent firmware compatible and with the same characteristics they should work. However I suggest you before decommision on the old one to remove all volumes and then reformat your  SC8000 back to factory.

Regards.
