SC8000 pagepool problem + lost licence key

Hi

I'm trying to find a way, how to get licence key (for 6.xx and 7.xx SCOS) for our SC8000.

The reason is that after setting Storage Profile to use 4MB block size (using "Dell Storage Manager Client"), both controllers went offline and have showed this:

23669 04/28/2022-13:36:16 DEBUG Snapshot CAAlloc ioengine/Virtualization/Snapshot/pagePool.cpp 5929004 Must Specify disk folder on create

How to bring controllers online (I don't have any important data on this storage, so if the fix needs purge - I'm ready for that)

But, if purge data (and reset both do "factory state") will be necessary, then there is another problem ... I don't have licence key (in *.lic format)

How we can obtain license key? (current SCOS version is 6.7.50, but the plan is to update to 7.x, but later)

I will provide HSN, Service TAG numbers and other details (like contact, when, where and by who this SC8000 has been installed) if necessary.

PS: the technician, who installed our storage in February 2013 forgotten to left license key to us ....

Hello  krzysztofgajda,

This will need an Engineer to remote in and do commands that are not public facing.  They have to backup license key and factory reset, then restore. They will do a remote session with you to get a look.

I would recommend calling into Support and set up a case. It does require a current contract as does upgrading OS.

If you have an active warranty contract it should be no problem. If you do not then you can ask about Post Standard Support contract to see if that is available for you.

A Good guy from Dell have contacted me and after 2 hour of trying back and forth, we will decide to factory reset (and reimage) using iso (ver 6.7.50) file provided from Dell.

Controllers are back to live in fresh state.

Both controllers have been reconfigured from scratch and are working fine (under 6.7.50 but the plan is to update to 7.x by refreshing support contract and my supervisor will deal with it)
