Compellent SC8000 max drive size
Hi,
We have a customer looking to upgrade an SC8000, curious what the max individual SSD capacity is. Documentation shows only up to 400gb which seems way too low. Anyone been able to successfully add 7.68tb for example?
Thanks,

Hello thanks for choosing Dell.
I can't support further than what it says on the document-so I can't encourage what you wish to do. I apologize I can't be of much help this time but we can wait to see if there's anyone who has gone through the trial and error before.
Let us know if you need other post purchase technical support.
Respectfully,

To my understanding i dont think you would be able to support anything higher 400gb. For example this drive
Dell JNV25-CML 7.68TB SSD SAS 2.5 12G MZILS7T6HMLS-000D4
should work in a sc4020 system with SCOS 7.4 or higher.
and because the system is structured where you cant put higher tier drives into lower tier systems. What i mean by that is a drive for SC4020 shouldn't work in a sc8000 system.
i can also say that sc8000 with SCOS 6.5 will not see the drive mentioned above, as its not in the table.
