Doubts about CTA

Hi everyone,
I am really new on this theme about CAT, and the information about it is really limited.

For that reason, I hope someone could help me....

I have an Unity and I am using CTA/VE for archiving to the ECS, What happen if my CTA/VE goes down? Will I lost my information?

When I use Isilon with the ECS, if I "call" the information from the isilon, it will stay on cache for some days, after that days pass, the information is send it to the Isilon again. Does the Unity works the same way with the ECS and the CTA/VE?

Thanks for all the help that you can give me.

To ensure file recalls while the primary CTA/VE is unavailable, a CTA/VE-HA should be deployed which will ensure data access. No data will be lost. Once the CTA/VE is back online, it will automatically continue to recall data. See section High Availability for CTA and CTA/VE in the CTA User guide and section 1.3.3 CTA/VE for High Availability (CTA/VE-HA) (page 10) in the CTA white paper.

When tiering to ECS, the original file will be replaced with a stub. By default, the recall policy is set to passthrough which will recall the data but keep the stub file. See section 2.6 (page 22) in the CTA white paper.

Thanks,

Kenneth
