Need help about changing SP iscsi port IP settings while in production

Good afternoon folks, we have an AX4-5i dual SP here. It was put in production with only partial iscsi ports (NIC) configuration, only one port in each SP was assigned an IPs address, SPA port0 and SPB port0 where configured, while the 2 remaining ports, SPA port1 and SPB port1 have blank IP addresses.

So what I want is simply to assign IPs to the remaining 2 blank ports,  however, since our storage is in production I'd like to to confirm that  I can safely apply IPs to these ports in Navisphere without interfering with other functioning ports and/or disrupting connectivity with my servers. *Our servers are multipathing over the two active ports

Thanks in Advance!

I went ahead and assigned an IP to the blank port of SPA . After applying the IP to the SP it took a minute or so to the result to return, if there was any interruption in the traffic to the SP it was unnoticed.

There was a problem however when I assigned initiators to the newly configured ports, the new initiators did not pick up the hosts storage groups and instead were assigned to ~management and had no acces to the LUNS. I looked it up on another thread and figured out that clicking recconect on the hosts connectivity status fixed this issue.

Didn't notice any other side effects so far

The next phase will be to reconfigure the previously active ports to another network after logging out all initiators and the logging them in again on the renewed IPs. Any tips about these changes will be heavily appreciated.

If you have connections currently that you will not be using in the future, you can go into the Host setting on the array and locate the Initiators for that host, then de-register the Initiators that you will not be using. This is more of a clear up operation after you have connected the new Initiator paths. You should also do that on the host in the iSCSI connections (on Windows hosts that would be in the iSCSI Control Panel). See the following KB articles:

KB 469678 provides a PPT (attached to the KB) that shows how to troubleshoot the Windows iSCSI Initiator and to correct any issues found.
