LCC replacement over Flare disks trepass
Hi Techies,
We have a situation where we got the alert that LCC was found faulty on EMC Device: CX3-40, but unfortunately we don't have a support with EMC vendor, Later we came to know that :
Since this LCC is on the same bus as the Flare disks trespass all the luns over to SPB before replacing the LCC ???
is this really required if yes then there will be an outage ???
Please suggest...!!!

On all CLARiiON arrays you have two back end buses - the SPA and SPB sides. The vault disks are in the DPE (Disk Processor Enclosure - hold the SP's and the vault disks). The bus goes to the DAE's using both the SPA and SPB buses.
If you pull a LCC from one of the DAE's, the buses above that DAE will fail and all the disks will then need to trespass to the peer bus to be seen by the SP's.
Best Practice when replacing an LCC is to trespass the LUNs from the SP bus being replaced to the other bus. If the LCC is on the SPA bus, then trespass all LUNs to the SPB side, then replace the LCC.
Since you don't have service, you might want to power off the array when you do this just to be safe.
