FC Ports Front-End FC versus Back-End FC ports

In Clariion world I am trying to get a better grip on I/O and the exact difference between FE and BE Fiber Channel ports. Realizing host connectivity to the storage is via Fiber Channel what is the difference between the port being configured as a Front End or a Back End FC port? Is the Back-End FC defined by the LC Cable from the Storage Processor to the Physical Disk? I'm assuming FC doesn't necessarily always mean the Fiber Cable from the Switch to the SP but can always be the term for LCC cable from the SP to the DAE? Perhaps I answered my own question but I want to make sure I understand it as FC FE is always going to be Fiber Cable and BE FC will always be the Cabling from the SP to the Disk.

Thanks Much

I suppose there is no difference.

Yes

It can indicate both

You are correct, though cx should support both of FC and iSCSI FE ports.
