Dell AX150 Processor B (Unmanaged)

Hello,

I have a Dell AX150 Fibre Channel SAN. I noticed I had a storage processor down. It was Storage Processor B. I rebooted the AX150 and well I still had the same service light blinking Amber on Storage Processor B. So I pulled out the storage processor thinking it was a bad fibre card on Storage Process B and well still nothing, but this time the hole left side did not light up at all. So I had an extra motherboard thinking it was a bad motherboard. So I swapped out the motherboard with another one I had and well the storage Processor B lights up, but I still have the service light blinking amber and now I do have fibre connectivity and network connectivity, but I swapped one of the fibre cards I knew worked from Proc A to Proc B and it started working again. ProcB came alive with no problems. So I had a spare fibre module and put in Proc A and BAM no Amber lights on any side. I load Navisphere and I now have storage proc B in unmanaged state, but I do show the ports for the Fibre Cards are available now. I also have network connectivity for all ports and also when I ran the initialization utility it shows the IP addresses on both Storage Processors. How do I fix this now? I am confused as anything and I have spent half a day on this. Does anyone have any idea how to fix this or what steps I should take? Thank you in advance.

Hello dcgtechnologies,

The first thing that you want to check is to make sure that the management cable is plugged in to SPB.  If you can access Navisphere via SPB management, then you have no fault.  What you will need to do is to go to your ip address of both sp’s and clear the cache. Here is an example ip of how to access the page

Once you are on the setup page you can clear the management cache.  This will not harm any data as it is just going to clear the management port.  After that is done you should be able to see the fault go away.

Please let us know if you have any other questions.

Thank you for the solution, but the link to the procedure that was provided is a dead link. It is does not provide me the steps.

Hello dcgtechnologies,

Sorry about that.  To get to the setup page you will need to go to the IP address of your processer/ setup. It should look like this 192.168.1.200/setup. Once there you will see the option about two thirds of the way down that says clear cache.
