Dell 3120 initial setup - not showing any wifi networks

I just purchased a refurb Dell Chromebook 3120 11"  and can't seem to get it to accept the Wifi network I am trying to connect to.

The welcome screen than click "Let's go"... that takes me to a 

Connect to Network page - To restore your data, you need an internet connection.

"Add another Wifi network"

I click the plus sign, and it takes me to a Join Wi-Fi network

SSID (and I have to manually type in the SSID it isn't showing me a drop down list of available connections)

So... I add the credentials in and... click connect... and it gives me an error saying "Chrome OS - now Network Connection error - failed to connect to network (network name): Unknown network error"

Any help? I think I just wasted my money.
