Chromebook 7486 - Laptop Not running with the battery

Hi,

All of a sudden my Inspiron Chromebook 7486, service tag: stopped starting with the battery. It was working fine and was giving me almost 7-8 hours backup. It just happened all of a sudden.

I tried to remove the battery myself and it is turning on the screen. When I plug the battery in, it dost not start. The Amber light is blinking with a 1-sec delay.

I am out of warranty to contact technical support. Is the battery dead? How could it be a battery dead in one and a half years?

Looking forward to an answer.

Thanks
Aliv

Very easily. Batteries can fail or weaken after 18 months. Today's batteries have been redesigned for thinner, lighter laptops so don't last as long as they used to. Try removing the battery if it can be removed and use the adapter alone. Se if that works until you can find a replacement battery. Inspiron Chromebook 7486 Service Manual (dell.com)

Batteries must be from Dell or a trusted Dell Parts supplier. Beware of many scams sold online.
