Changing the serial number on a Chromebook 3100 motherboard replacement

We have many 3100 Chromebooks that are freezing and determined that it is the motherboard. We want to replace the motherboards. Does anyone know how to change the serial # on them to reflect the original one? Do I need to remove the enrollment from the Google Admin Console first?

thanks

Google 'Schooled in tech Chromebook'

It is a website by a guy who works in IT for a large school district. He may be able to answer your question. The rest of us are consumers.

It is a website by a guy who works in IT for a big faculty district. He can be capable of answer your question. The rest people are clients. Replacing the motherboards on the freezing 3100 Chromebooks should resolve the issue. However, changing the serial number to reflect the original one is not recommended, as it can lead to complications and is likely against the manufacturer's policies. Instead, focus on the motherboard replacement itself. Before installing the new motherboards, it's advisable to remove the enrollment from the Google Admin Console to ensure a smooth setup process for the replaced devices.
