Possibly there could be difference in the file system.  Check Both the clusters have the latest code CentraStar installed as per EMC Knowledgebase solution emc177451

If the difference is too much between the Primary and DR site then you may log a ticket with the support team to Modify replication on both clusters.

This can be due to a lot of reasons

- You are not replicating all pools to the DR site

- There is a difference in storage strategy between source cluster and the DR cluster (performance .vs. capacity)

- There is a difference in physical capacity between source and DR

- There is a difference in system buffer space between source and DR

There is a difference between cluster capacity and pool capacity. Make sure you are comparing apples to apples

Check for configuration differences by comparing the health reports between the 2 clusters.

If this still does not explain the differences, EMC Centera Support can assist by opening a SR.

If the target cluster was installed after the source and data had been written to the source, that earlier data is not automatically copied when Replication is configured. If there was a delay in installing the target cluster then contact support and open a ticket to investigate.

Have there been any health issues with the boxes?  If a node were to go offline and regeneration starts for that node before the node were brought back online, overprotection could result due to the regeneration running.  Organic Regeneration and Garbage Collection will clean this up, but it may take some time.

Also, has garbage collection been running on both the source and target cluster?  If it were running one one and not the other, the orphans could lead to capacity differences.

If the difference is minor, that could be neglected as system files differ from cluster to cluster.

Hello,

I see you posted a question regarding the difference of capacity in your centera's and that your question in this post appears to have  been answered. Was this a correct or helpful answer? If so could you  please mark the question as Answered (helpful or correct)?
