How to disable garbage collector in CenteraStar 4.0 storage ?

We have an Filenet Image Services 4.0 as our archiving solution to archive images from our SAP to Filenet Storage. 

I am getting error while retrieving the images from our Centera Storage via SAP and for which the solution provided by IBM is to disable garbage collector on the storage as per below blog.

EMC Centera repository reports read error 238,1,3 FP_FILE_NOT_STORED_ERR in IBM FileNet Image Services

I am looking for the steps to disable garbage collector in CenteraStar 4.0 storage.

Please help me with that.
