garbage collection issue.

when i run garbage collection , i am getting this error ERROR wrong clip intergrity status or in waitingstate INComplete.

when i see  open regenerations , i getting service status active and CPM Intergrity incomplete and CPP intergrity incomplete.

i have to reclam space , please let me know how to fix this issue.

Is it the same cluster you are referring to for Regenerations? If the Regens are stuck and for how long?

Garbage Collection may not work if ReGens are incomplete. Integrity issue occurs due to many factors one of them is due to disk inconsistency. Log a ticket with support, since admin account is limited for Verifying the data integrity, in the mean time you can verify the Health Reports if there are any other issue.

Hi Bhumi,

Garbage Collection indicates incomplete clip integrity while Regenerations indicates the clip integrity to be complete. However the issue might require "emcexpert" access to troubleshoot. It would be good if you can open a service request with the support team for the same. Would keep you posted once i get more information on the issue.

Hello Satish,

I was on vacation, so i couldnt update. we are not using this box in production env.

we dont have support enabled, i want use this as secondary storage for dumping data.

can we fix this without support team ????

Hello,

As far as I know you'll be unable to configure the device without "emcexpert" access.You can get in touch with EMC Professional Services if you dont have Support Contract enabled for the cluster.

Thanks for help. I dont want to use EMC Professional Services. if some know the emcexpert or emcservice please share.

if not I have to plan to reset all passwords by bringing down centera and booting using boot CD's as this system  is based on linux. i dont care about data.

Hello Bhumi,

Since Centera is a Compliance product, emcexpert and emcservice access is limed to professional Services only.

Note booting the node with a Linux CD you may loose the Organic Filepool features (the OS which sits over Suse Linux), required to function normally for Centera.

Hi,

As informed earlier “emcexpert” access is for EMC Support Engg only . I would still suggest you to get in touch with Professional service regarding GC issues since the issue is very Complex and needs to be handled by Trained Support Enng.
