Centera "SEEK" server re-installation
Hello,
IHAC who's running 3 seek servers, 2 in production and 1 in test.
He is aware of the fact that the seek solution is now EOSL and he is actively searching for a solution.
But, the test seek server failed this week. One of the 5 disks crashed.
We (customer + EMC) will try to find a replacement disk but :
- will we have to set-up a particular SuSe on it after repair ?
- or, is the disk configuration managed by the seek boot CD ?
Thanks for your help.
BTW if one of you knows where we could find a spare seek server or seek server disk it would be great !

Seek Server is an appliance so you will need to install off the seek install CD which will bring down the correct version and revision of linux. From memory the seek server has two mirrored drive pairs so you need to find a disk identical to the other one in the mirror.
Sorry I cant really help much and this forum is really for Centera developers so I'm not sure if anyone else on here can help. If you internal to EMC you might want to try the emc one centera forums

Thanks a lot for this.
My CS colleague just told me that the server when booting indicates a failure in one of the 5 disks in his...Raid0 configuration. Which would not be good...
